The Biden administration has announced that it will fund the development of more experimental Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines with $1.4 billion in taxpayer money. According to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the move will be part of the “Project NextGen” health initiative.
HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said Project NextGen is “a key part of the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to keeping people safe from COVID-19 variants.” He added that the grants are an “investment” that will help the U.S. “respond to future variants” of coronavirus.
According to Becerra, Biden isn’t waiting until 2024 to prepare for what could happen next, insisting that the program is going to help America prepare for the next global health emergency. (Related: Biden admin to buy 1.5M doses of Novavax COVID-19 shots, company reveals.)
The HHS website announced that the agency, through the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), awarded over $1.4 billion for Project NextGen to allegedly support the development of “tools and technologies to protect against COVID-19 for years to come.”
The awards follow far-reaching coordination with industry partners and include support for clinical trials that will support the rapid development of things like “more effective and longer-lasting coronavirus vaccines, a new monoclonal antibody and transformative technologies to streamline manufacturing processes.”
Project NextGen is a $5 billion initiative led by ASPR’s Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
The project claims to build on a better understanding of COVID-19 –with the HHS developing, using and constantly reevaluating the strengths and weaknesses of current vaccines and therapeutics for more than three years.
The initiative also involves generous contracts to Big Pharma for COVID-19 vaccines, along with other vaccines and therapeutics. It adds to the $30 billion the U.S. government has already spent on the vaccines and $4.6 trillion in overall COVID-19 relief.
The grants were awarded to several pharmaceutical companies, non-profits and non-governmental organizations.
The HHS website states that the Project NextGen initiative includes:
The ambitious projects come as mainstream media and hospitals once again exaggerate the emergence of a mild COVID-19 omicron subvariant called EG.5. To date, the new subvariant has been used to justify the return of previous ineffective pandemic restrictions, including face masks.
InfoWars founder Alex Jones first broke the report that the Biden administration was readying new COVID-19 restrictions in mid-September as Big Pharma was about to launch a new COVID-19 booster. Some reports suggest that aside from the new booster, the Biden administration has also started buying up COVID-19 equipment and hiring advisers on “safety protocols.”
