New findings from a House of Representatives probe have found that presidential son Hunter Biden received $260,000 from two Chinese nationals in the run-up to the 2020 election, with the money being addressed to President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware.
Jeremy Sandberg of NTD reported that the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed a bank for Hunter’s records on Monday, Sept. 25, and discovered two wire transfers from two Chinese nationals to the presidential son dating back to 2019. Committee Chairman James Comer noted that an individual going by the name Wang Xin sent $10,000 to Hunter on July 26, 2019. A week later, Jonathan Li, CEO of Beijing-based investment firm BHR Partners sent an additional $250,000 to the presidential son.
While Hunter Biden is listed as the beneficiary of both wire transfers, the address he used was “1209 Barley Mill Rd.” in Wilmington. This address is the main residence of the Biden family.
BHR Partners was co-founded by Li and Hunter with the help of Hunter’s Rosemont Seneca and the Chinese firm Bohai Capital. Wang is listed on the website for BHR Partners, but his position on the firm is not entirely clear.
Comer noted that the two wire transfers are the first examples the House Oversight Committee has found of the presidential son receiving money directly from Chinese sources and not laundered through shell companies.
Abbe Lowell, an attorney representing Hunter, claimed that the wire transfers were “a documented loan – not a distribution or pay-out – that was wired from a private individual to his new bank account which listed the address on his driver’s license, his parents’ address, because it was his only permanent address at the time.”
The $10,000 wire from Wang was labeled as “ACC/LOAN TO BENEFICIARY,” while the $250,000 transfer from Li was labeled as “ACC/PERSONAL INVESTMENT.”
Comer noted that Biden, who was already running for president at the time his son received the money, had “developed a familiar relationship” with Li.
“Bank records don’t lie, but President Joe Biden does,” said Comer. “In 2020, Joe Biden told Americans that his family never received money from China.”
“We’ve already proved that to be a lie earlier this year, and now we know that two wires originating from Beijing listed Joe Biden’s Wilmington home as the beneficiary address when he was running for President of the United States,” added Comer, who noted that when he was vice president, Biden had on at least two occasions spoke over the phone and had coffee with Li in Beijing. Biden later wrote a college letter of recommendation for Li’s children.
“Joe Biden’s abuse of public office for his family’s financial gain threatens our national security. What did the Bidens do with this money from Beijing?” asked Comer. “Americans demand and deserve accountability for President Biden and the First Family’s corruption. The Oversight Committee, along with the Judiciary and Ways and Means Committees, will continue to follow the evidence and money to provide transparency and accountability.”
