Former President Donald Trump has accused the Biden-Harris administration of committing election interference by refusing to provide him with much-needed security.
The real estate mogul leveled this accusation at the incumbent Democratic administration in several Truth Social posts on Sept. 30. “The Democrats are interfering with my campaign by not giving us the proper number of people within the Secret Service that are necessary for security,” he wrote. According to Trump, he was forced to hold a Sept. 28 campaign rally in a small venue that only had a 750-person capacity – forcing 50,000 people to be turned away.
“We need more Secret Service, and we need them now. It is election interference that we have to turn away thousands of people from arenas and venues because [security] is not being provided to us.”
Trump then addressed the people of Wisconsin, telling them that they should “realize that this is just another Democrat ploy” if they are turned away from his campaign events due to insufficient Secret Service protection. He also promised to make up for those unable to attend, insinuating a return to a larger venue possibly located outdoors.
The former president continued his criticism of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in a separate Truth Social post. According to Trump, the two Democrats “are going out of their way to make it difficult for [him] to campaign.”
“The Biden administration’s refusal to increase Trump’s security detail comes as he has been the target of two assassination attempts,” InfoWars noted. In July, Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at the former president at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania – but only managed to graze his right ear.
Last month, Ryan Wesley Routh waited for the former president at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida while hiding in the bushes armed with a rifle. A Secret Service agent managed to thwart the would-be shooter, and Routh was later apprehended.
Trump also lamented that Secret Service agents were instead deployed to protect Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who spoke at the United Nations in New York. Pezeshkian needs less security compared to Trump who has survived two assassination attempts.
“They were unable to give us Secret Service protection commensurate with the crowd because they had to protect the president of Iran – who is doing everything possible to kill me – at the UN event,” the former president recounted on Truth Social. “We complained ‘like hell,’ but there was nothing we could do.”
Trump touched on the matter during the Sept. 28 campaign rally, telling those who managed to make it to the indoor venue: “We have a nice little room that probably holds 1,500; 2,000; maybe less. The administration couldn’t give us the Secret Service necessary because they’re guarding the Iranian president who’s looking to kill Trump.”
According to Modernity News, the Biden-Harris administration’s refusal to provide Trump with extra security comes amid warnings about potential threats to the former president’s life. His campaign team was also briefed on these plots against his life, including some connected to Iran.
Earlier, U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) warned that a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security told him that there are at least five “assassination teams” inside the U.S. currently targeting the former president. These “kill teams” have also taken delivery of surface-to-air-missile sets, which they intend to use on Trump’s private plane. (Related: DHS official reportedly warned Florida Rep. Gaetz of 5 ASSASSINATION teams targeting Trump.)
“Despite all of this, the Biden-Harris administration is resisting demands by Republicans to issue a statement warning Iran that any attempt to assassinate Trump would constitute an act of war,” Modernity News ultimately remarked.
