The Leftist deep state has overreached spectacularly in its effort to ‘get Donald Trump’ and remove him from office, as proven once again in reports Monday.
As reported by Zero Hedge, a liberal ‘watchdog’ organization’s efforts to obtain information from the State Department damaging to presidential attorney Rudy Giuliani actually backfired in a big way: The data received implicates former Vice President Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and corrupt activities related to Ukraine.
Among the documents released by the State Department: “Detailed accusations of corruption against the Bidens based on interviews with former Ukrainian officials who were in charge of the investigations,” the web site reported.
In response to a FOIA lawsuit from an organization known as American Oversight, the State Department released nearly 100 pages of records providing details by Giuliani to investigate Ukraine-related corruption, which includes contacts earlier this year with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.).
American Oversight officials saw that contact as their “gotcha” moment — Giuliani’s “multiple contacts” with Pompeo and others while undertaking the corruption investigation. However, they ignored completely interview notes that contained detailed allegations by former Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, whom Joe Biden had fired, and his successor, Yuriy Lutsenko, who said he “believes Mr. Viktor Shokin the former Prosecutor General is honest.”
You may recall reports earlier this fall featuring a video clip of Joe Biden speaking at an event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations, during which he bragged about threatening to withhold $1 billion from Ukraine unless that government fired Shokin.
At the time, Shokin was investigating corruption tied to Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company that had employed Hunter Biden as a board member for around $83,000 per month.
“Well, son-of-a-b**ch,” Biden mused, “he got fired.”
That’s exactly the kind of threat and “quid pro quo” Democrats are currently accusing President Trump of having committed, though there is no evidence he threatened the Ukrainians at all.
Since the video became known, Biden and his defenders in the garbage mainstream media have claimed that all he was doing was following the letter of the law in providing aid to Ukraine: To ensure that the government in Kiev was fighting corruption, and that Shokin himself was corrupt.
The information released by the State Department quoting Lutsenko refutes that narrative.
During a phone call between Shokin, Giuliani, Igor Fruman, Lev Parnas, and George Boyle, Lutsenko said, “He was appointed to the position of General Prosecutor of Ukraine from 2015 until April of 2016, when he was removed at the request of Mr. Joseph Biden, the Vice President of the United States.
“He [Shokin] became involved in a case against Mr. Mykola Zlochevsky the former Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. The case was opened as a result of Mr. Zlochevsky giving himself/company permits to drill for gas and oil in Ukraine. Mr. Zlochevsky is also the owner of Burisma Holdings,” he added.
Later in the documents, Shokin notes that in July 2015, “U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey R. Pyatt told him that the investigation has to be handled with white gloves, which according to Mr. Shoking, that implied do nothing.”
Shokin further stated “that on February of 2016 warrants were placed on the accounts of multiple people in Ukraine. There were requests for information on Hunter Biden, to which nothing was received.”
Notes provided in response to the FOIA also claim that “Hunter Biden receives a salary, commission, plus one million dollars.”
The notes also show that Ukraine’s president at the time, Petro Poroshenko, tried to warn Shokin off, telling him that his probe into Burisma “was not in the interest of Joe and/or Hunter Biden.”
Busted.
Let this come out during any Senate impeachment trial of President Trump.
