We have always been concerned that following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the West’s decision to intervene on behalf of Kyiv, it would eventually lead to World War III. And it appears as though we may have been right.
Poland’s Ambassador to France, Jan Emeryk Ro?ciszewski, made a remarkable statement, declaring that Poland would declare war on Russia in the event that Ukraine loses the war. During an interview with French television, the ambassador stated, “If Ukraine fails to defend its independence, we will have no choice, we will be forced to enter the conflict,” as reported by En Volve.
The ambassador’s statement reflects the bellicose, pro-war strategy pursued by NATO and the European Union, and has elicited astonishment and indignation in France.
Florian Philippot, President of the Les Patriotes Party remarked on Twitter, “Crazy statement from the ambassador of Poland in France: he announces the entry into war of his country against Russia if Zelensky loses! France embarked with this country via the EU and NATO?! These madmen refuse Peace!”
The Polish Embassy in France moved swiftly to disavow its ambassador’s statement, arguing that the media had taken his words “out of context.” They contend that in other parts of the interview, Ro?ciszewski “clearly says that Poland is not at war, but will do everything to help Ukraine defend itself in this conflict.”
Nonetheless, the video is unambiguous in conveying the ambassador’s unequivocal declaration that Poland would enter the war against Russia if Ukraine were defeated. Is Poland testing the waters for the onset of World War III?
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to punish Russia a year into its invasion.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Operational Command South urged the Russian occupiers “to leave” after a drone strike destroyed Russian cruise missiles in Crimea, according to a report from Fox News.
On Monday, Ukraine’s military intelligence agency reported that an explosion in the northern city of Dzhankoi on the Crimean Peninsula had destroyed Kalibr-NK cruise missiles while they were being transported by railway. Later, Russian news outlets reported that the area was targeted by drone strikes as a train transporting the high-value cruise missiles was passing through.
“Dzhankoi is a hub station. Even at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, it was said that the defeat of logistics would be the main means of influencing the enemy’s ideas of what to do in Crimea,” Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Press Center for Ukraine’s Operational Command South, noted, according to a translation by Pravda. “Now the course is clearly set that they need to leave.”
The incident has not been independently verified by Fox News Digital, and Kyiv has not claimed responsibility for the attack. However, it is not the first time that Crimea, which has been occupied by Russia since 2014, has been targeted during the conflict in Ukraine.
Kyiv has reiterated its commitment to continuing the fight against Russia until all its forces have withdrawn from Ukraine, including the Crimean Peninsula. The frequency of strikes on weapons depots and military stations has increased in recent months, Fox News continued. Russia has been using the peninsula as a crucial logistics point to transfer troops and arms to its forces in southern Ukraine. The area was also an important transportation hub during the initial invasion in 2014, which aimed to trap Ukrainian forces from the north and south.
Ukrainian troops have been successfully pushing back against Russian forces in the region in recent months. In November, for example, they expelled them from the city of Kherson, and per Humeniuk in February, Mariupol is now “no longer completely unreachable” to Kyiv’s motivated forces.
