Former President Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of him running for president a fourth time if he loses this year’s elections, set to happen on Nov. 5.
He made this remark during an interview with Sharyl Attkisson on her “Full Measure” program. The 78-year-old Trump’s remarks served as an answer to the former CBS News correspondent as to whether the American people will see him run a fourth time.
“No, I don’t. I think that will be – that will be it,” Trump told her. “I don’t see that at all. Hopefully, we will be successful.”
According to Reuters, “Trump launched his first reelection bid for the 2020 election the same day he was inaugurated in 2017.” However, the real estate mogul failed to secure a second term as incumbent President Joe Biden won the 2020 elections – mainly through vote fraud facilitated by mail-in ballots. Trump later launched his bid for a second term in November 2022, coinciding with the midterm elections that year.
But his journey back to the White House has been marred by criminal indictments pushed by progressive prosecutors, with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis prominently indicting Trump over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. The former president “has cast his indictments as a political attack against him while embracing increasingly dystopian rhetoric if he were to lose in 2024,” Reuters continued.
Trump also told Attkisson during their conversation that it was “too early” to make deals with people for any position in his White House cabinet, should he win in November. The journalist later asked whether Trump’s four-year break from staying in the Oval Office helped him regroup and figure out who his real allies and enemies were.”
“It would have been easier if I did it [when my presidency was] contiguous,” he responded. “But the benefit is more than anything else, it shows how bad they were.”
According to Breitbart News, Trump’s comment to Attkisson was notable as he seemingly ruled out a fourth bid for the White House. “Trump normally insists that could only happen if there were widespread cheating,” the outlet continued.
“Trump would be 82 in 2028, a year older than Biden is now. Biden bowed out of the race in July following his disastrous debate performance and months of being hammered by Trump and other conservatives as being too old and erratic for the job.” (Related: IT’S JOE-VER! Trump also defended his record on the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic during his interview with Attkisson. He took credit for the development of the COVID-19 injections during his presidency, under Operation Warp Speed. But according to the former president, his colleagues in the Republican Party have become skeptical about the vaccines – and for good reason, given the countless stories of vaccine injuries linked to the experimental injections.
He also poked fun at the recent assassination attempt on his life. Fifty-eight-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh attempted to assassinate the former president while he was playing at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida’s West Palm Beach. Secret Service agents managed to stop Routh, and the would-be assassin was later apprehended.
“I used to play golf a little bit, but that seems to be quite a dangerous sport in retrospect,” Trump joked.
